In these times of total networking, solutions for uncomplicated communication between devices are becoming increasingly important. Yet a Smart Home not only offers greater ease thanks to automated control, but also increases security by enabling the home to be monitored when the occupants are away. Thanks to the new co-operation between the sun shading company Warema and the platform provider everHome, all Smart Home functions such as lighting, heating and sun shading control can now easily be operated using a single app from anywhere in the world thanks to cloud technology. More than 800 devices and services offered by over 70 companies are available for this purpose.
Having made its WMS WebControl fit for use in the Smart Home through its co-operation with mediola, Warema's EWFS remote system can now also be networked digitally thanks to the collaboration with everHome. Products such as Warema awnings, roller shutters and external venetian blinds can effectively be integrated in the Smart home thanks to the many different combination options with a wide range of systems. As well as Warema, other renowned manufacturers such as Philips Hue and Paulmann, Panasonic and JBL, Simu and HomeMatic are compatible with everHome. The Amazon and Google language assistants are also connected to the platform, which allows the Warema sun shading systems to be controlled using voice commands with no need for another gateway. For instance, Amazon's Alexa voice control responds to "Alexa, let the roller shutters down".
Instead of using various remote controls, apps or gateways, users can opt for the all-in-one solution to easily control a wide range of products, applications and services using the multi-vendor system. The prerequisites for this are possession of the everHome Premium Package and an Internet connection, since the required control mode and intelligence are stored in the cloud. This means that the system can also be controlled remotely by smartphone or tablet. In the application, the whole thing looks like this: the user can, for instance, use a door contact from a participating manufacturer to trigger EWFS. When the patio door is opened, the external venetian blind is automatically raised to clear the way to the outside. At the same time, a message appears on the smartphone saying that the patio door is now open. On request, a timer can be set to raise or lower the awning and external venetian blind at a specific time.
The user can easily configure the various functions in the Smart Home in the portal by means of the connection to the everHome CloudBox, and adjust them to suit their personal requirements using control modes. The EWFS components are an important contribution from Warema to a contemporary and intelligent solution that can be realised individually, flexibly and with complete ease.
