Our employees benefit from our long-lasting personnel strategy: WAREMA is a fair, reliable employer and in particular stands for secure jobs. That means the closeness works in both directions. Year after year we celebrate many milestone anniversaries with long-standing employees.
Continuous personnel development and an atmosphere that encourages learning are important to us. Working at WAREMA also always means acquiring and expanding knowledge, as well as passing it on. That begins on the first day and of course carries on to the end of the induction phase: All employees are open to internal and external further training measures. This also makes it possible for us to meet our demand for skilled employees and managers using mostly our internal resources.
Many people leading a professional life want and need to care for relatives “on the side” – whether that be children or even elderly family members in need. Reconciling both of those is often a real challenge. We want to support our employees with this as best as we can, as being family-friendly is a vital part of our corporate culture. It is a firmly established principle in the staff and manager guidelines and it is actively required and promoted by corporate management.
People in Germany are on average getting older and older and are retiring later and later. If they stay healthy and fit in spite of that, everyone benefits. That's why we place great importance on health-promoting measures – from the ergonomic and smoke-free workplace to courses that teach healthy eating, exercise and dealing with stress.
Our sun shading products help to save energy and as a result contribute to climate protection. That is demonstrated by the “Product Carbon Footprint”, which the Würzburg-Schweinfurt University of Applied Sciences determined for our external venetian blind: The detailed CO2balance shows a saving of 8.5 tonnes in greenhouse gases over the life cycle of the external venetian blind. That is in contrast to just 150 kilograms of carbon dioxide that accumulate through production, use and disposal.
Our declared goal is production that is free from waste. Scrap optimisation for fabrics and sheet metals as well as powder recycling during the coating process contribute to this. We use energy-saving circulation pumps and heat our factory halls with the exhaust heat of the production processes. In addition wherever possible we rely on work without paper and endeavour to avoid waste, sort waste and also if possible to recycle waste.
We make a point of bringing our products to our customers ourselves. For this we use our own fleet of modern, low-emissions trucks with the WAREMA Cargo System (WLS - WAREMA Laderaum System). We use sophisticated route planning to avoid the vehicle driving for miles without any load. In addition we regularly train our drivers in how to save fuel while driving.
Sustainable production can be surprisingly innovative. Proof of that is the close cooperation of WAREMA and BRICHBAG. It sees scraps of fabric left over from cutting awning fabrics turned into attractive bags and rucksacks.
Each BRICHBAG bought also pays for a rucksack for a homeless person, filled with all sorts of useful things for living rough on the streets. And so sustainability meets with social outreach. It doesn't get better than this.

One example of our community engagement is the children's and young adults' charity Lebenshilfe Marktheidenfeld e.V. We support its work not just financially, but by helping to build a bridge between disabled children and teenagers and the working world.
As a result every year pupils from the career level of counselling service to our training centre. They work with our apprentices on a project for several weeks and from that they gain diverse glimpses of the activities and processes of an industrial company. Conversely young WAREMA managers sit in on meetings of the counselling service. They help out in the groups, experience a completely different daily routine and develop an understanding and sensitivity towards special situations.
