Outdoor Living – living in and with nature – is becoming increasingly important in our hectic daily lives. The sun-shading expert Warema has a wide range of aesthetic and functional product solutions that enable garden, patio and balcony to be used almost all year round. The company, which is based in Marktheidenfeld in Germany, is now being presented with the German Design Award 2019 for its Lamaxa slat roofs.
Those who wish to create their perfect favourite spot in the outdoors will find the right solution in the Lamaxa slat roofs. The subtle design in the colour of choice blends harmoniously with the landscape or the architecture, and at the same time is full of possibilities. The strong, flexible slats are sun and rain protection combined. They can be extended and retracted as desired, depending on the particular model, to provide just the right amount of light and shade. In the closed position, they reliably allow water to run off so rain is unable to penetrate. The tremendous range of options mean they can be individualised with LED lighting, radiant heaters and window awnings.
The international jury of the German Design Council, which organises the competition, was impressed by the minimalist design and ease of use. "The interesting design combines contemporary functionality and modern aesthetics, with the tremendous selection of colours and designs offering a high level of individuality," was the jury's opinion. The experts will be honouring the Lamaxa slat roofs winners in the category "Building and Elements" for their excellent design quality at the presentation ceremony on 8 February in Frankfurt.
Professional
consultation tool for specialised retailers
Warema's collection of awnings for specialised retailers
was also honoured in the form of a Special Mention in the same category. It is
based entirely on nature and her elements, and contains over 300 designs in
various fabric qualities. Six colour worlds contain both popular trends and
timeless classics. Individual collection folders make it easier for retailers
to present the fabrics, and guarantee speedy orientation. Matching fabric
recommendations help with the composition, while practical integrated
consultation tools help the customer to choose the perfect product. The jury's
opinion: "The comprehensive, varied and well-designed and created set of
collection folders is the perfect tool for successful consultations and sales
presentations."
The German Design Award is an internationally recognised design award that has been presented to innovative products and projects, their manufacturers and designers since 2012. Its aim is to discover and present unique design trends and promote the design-based economy. The awards are presented annually during the Ambiente trade fair in Frankfurt.
